MRA Students to Participate in Boston Choir Festival

On Saturday, April 29, a group of students from the Mount Royal Academy will be traveling to Harvard Square to the beautiful church of St. Paul for the “Pueri Cantores Boston Choir Festival.” Pueri Cantores is the International Student Choral Organization of the Catholic Church, whose purpose is to renew and strengthen sacred choral music in the Church by gathering young people from all over the country and the world to rehearse and perform together.

This day involves meeting with many other Catholic school choirs from around New England to spend a day singing excellent music under the direction of an eminent conductor, having lunch, and in the afternoon participating in Mass with hundreds of other musicians from grades 4-12.

The renewal of the celebration of the liturgy with good sacred music is a very important part of each student’s education in the good, the true and the beautiful, as our young people will be going out into the world and bringing their experience and love of music with them to their parishes and families.

We would like to say a special "thank you" to Mrs. Yost for organizing this opportunity.
