"Train yourself for devotion, for, while physical training is of limited value, devotion is valuable in every respect, since it holds a promise of life both for the present and for the future." - 1 Timothy 4:8
Reflections on Catholic Education
I have embraced this wonderful concept since my youth when first discovering the world of exercise and fitness for myself. After more than 30 years of study and training nothing holds truer to me. Here at Mount Royal Academy there is no separation of Christ from any concept or mission of the school. The inclusion of tolerance, love and patience is witnessed on a daily basis within every fiber of each and every complicated process. Being able to share with children the lifelong benefits that easily come in an educational yet “fun packaged” gym class while upholding and loving our school and its mission is truly, to me, a gift from God.
In all of my experiences nothing has been more inspiring and rewarding then the past 4 years at Mount Royal Academy working with all the students as the school’s gym teacher. I’ve been looking for this job all my life! This is truly my greatest achievement! - Mrs. Heidi North
Mrs. North began her studies at Suny Farmingdale University in the area of Food and Nutrition in 1986, then branched out into fitness and sports nutrition in 1990. After narrowing this field to personal training and industry fitness, in 2003 she opened Newport Fitness & Spa in Newport, NH. Through The American Council on Exercise, she then became a certified personal trainer and the area's clinical exercise specialist to special populations and youth training. For the past five years have been a part in facilitating, through local hospitals and schools, granted youth programs such as the “Fit For Life” as well, and currently hosts a winter program opportunity every year, for both Newport and Sunapee public school children.
